04 MarIntegrated GNSS system offers attractive pricing
Earlier this week, the integrated GNSS system from Fokker Services was demonstrated in the company’s engineering simulator. You can watch the entire simulation HERE.
A spokesperson from Fokker Services commented on the system saying, “The integrated GNSS system is a very innovative way to introduce GPS as the primary means of navigation in your aircraft. We leave the existing system untouched and you just use the FMS, navigation display and the autopilot as before.”
“The required training for pilots is limited, and together with the modest costs for modification, means you can make your fleet RNP capable for a very attractive price,” the spokesperson continues.
“The advantage of RNP, our numerous similarly improved aircraft tracking in all flight phases, the ability to add new routes and so on- together with attractive pricing- all help make a solid business case for your operation.”
The GNSS receiver and Navigation Status Display (NSD) were developed by a team led by FreeFlight Systems under contract to Fokker Services.
FreeFlight Systems President and CEO Tim Taylor commented the operational benefit of the system saying, “an added benefit is that the GNSS source is ADS-B capable- in all major jurisdictions including the USA.”
