30 MarKannad Integra ELT receives TSO

KannadIntegra Kannad Integra ELT receives TSOThe Kannad Integra 406 GPS ELT was TSO’d earlier this month.

This comes a few weeks after the the Integra was approved by ETSO and Cospas-Sarsat. That approval allows the ELT to be sold, installed and certified on aircraft throughout Europe.

FreeFlight Systems is the U.S. Premier Technical Distributor for Kannad Aviation. That means we give local support, helping to strengthen Kannad’s continuing expansion into the U.S. market.

The Integra is unique in that it’s the only ELT on the market that features an internal GPS and an integrated 406 MHz antenna. The product does still require an external antenna, however in the event of  ditching the aircraft or a crash landing, the Integra automatically activates and transmits the unique identification code and GPS position through the internal antenna.

You can read more about these features and other improvements the Integra brings to the 406 MHz ELT design in our three-part series on ELT models. Make sure to take a look, and leave a comment in the comments section.

If you have a question about the Kannad Integra ELT, you can find us at the Sun ‘n Fun Expo Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, Fla. The event is commonly known as “Spring Break for Pilots and Friends” and runs through April 3.

Scheduled activities at Sun ‘n Fun this year range from a celebration of the 100th anniversary of naval aviation, to a 10-year commemoration of Sept. 11, 2011 and a 20-year retrospective on Desert Storm. There’s something for everyone at the event!

We’re at Booth B-088! We also have the 978- MHz RANGR transmitter/transceiver at the booth, so make sure to stop by and see us.

As announced last week at the AEA International Convention & Tradeshow, certification for the 978-MHz RANGR transmitter/transceiver is on track for the third quarter. The TSO’d ADS-B IN and Out transceiver is set to sell at $4,995.
